If you’ve been following our journey to bring a fan-focused soccer club to the pitch, you might have seen two names popping up: Gateway Football Group and Forest Park Rangers FC.
We want to clear up any confusion and explain exactly how these two names work together to build the future of soccer in St. Louis.
One Mission, Two Names
The simplest way to look at it is this: Gateway Football Group is the “engine under the hood,” while Forest Park Rangers FC is the car you see on the track.
- Gateway Football Group (GFG): This is our official parent organization. GFG is a Missouri non-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status. It serves as the legal and financial steward of our resources, ensuring we stay true to our mission of being fan-built and transparent.
- Forest Park Rangers FC: This is our “Doing Business As” (DBA) name. It is the identity of the club itself—the colors, the crest, and the team that will represent us in the Midwest Premier League (MWPL) starting in 2027.
Why the Distinction?
By having Gateway Football Group as the parent organization, we can focus on the long-term sustainability and community-driven governance of the club. Meanwhile, Forest Park Rangers FC allows us to build a distinct brand that celebrates the culture and history of St. Louis soccer.
When you become a member of Gateway Football Group, you aren’t just a fan of a team; you are a partial “owner” with a vote in how Forest Park Rangers FC is run. From sporting decisions to game-day experiences, GFG provides the platform for your voice to be heard.
Looking Ahead to 2026 and Beyond
As we move through 2026, Gateway Football Group is working behind the scenes to prepare for our inaugural 2027 season. This includes everything from finalizing our sporting operations to building out our member committees.
